Samsung’s IT subsidiary, Samsung SDS recently released a new version of its enterprise blockchain platform, Nexledger Universal as per a press release on April 24th.

Nexledger Universal has developed a groundbreaking application interface which can be implemented on various blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric and its own platform Nexledger Consensus Algorithm.

As per the press release, any user can develop applications for authentication, proof of originality and settlements.

Interested parties can purchase Nexledger Universal on Microsoft’s Azure marketplace. Senior vice president and leader of Blockchain Center at Samsung SDS stated:

“We plan to expand our cloud-based blockchain platform by registering Nexledger Universal on other cloud marketplaces.”

Earlier in March, Hong Yuan Zhen, president and CEO of Samsung SDS stated that by using blockchain, productivity in the manufacturing industry will improve. He stated:

“In the whole process of supply chain management, communication is very important, data needs to be collected, and through blockchain and AI, we can improve processes and enhance trust so that we can share information better, so a healthy process is established.”

Lastly, back in February, Samsung SDS made a rather bold announcement, claiming it had developed a new way to speed up blockchain transactions. The company presented its Nexledger Accelerator at the IBM Think 2019 Conference which took place in San Francisco with the tech already passing its testing phase upon the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain.
