Arthur Hayes, known for his relentless and provocative character, an entrepreneur that has taken a $25k USD investment to support the development of BitMEX in 2015 and transformed that into a sustainable and profitable business.
Now, he’s paying it back by donating $2.24 million USD to the Jackie Robinson Foundation, an organization that strives to develop and empower leaders from the pool of talented students in colleges across the United States.
His donation will provide 20 scholarships for classes of 2023 and 2024. The scholarships are four year long and will provide these 20 individuals with the same level of education, challenge, and leadership ability that it has bestowed to Arthur Hayes himself, who is an alumni of the organization.
While BitMEX is not a “real” cryptocurrency exchange, it does offer investors the ability to trade on the crypto derivative markets, in specialized funds which track the price of the associated assets.
Additionally, Arthur Hayes has been known to use charity in order to popularize BitMEX, which is a fine marketing strategy, considering that helping others is a great way to attract attention. In the past Arthur Hayes has also donated ambulance vehicles, but we have no information as to which region that vehicle can be found.
Great example of giving back
Arthur Hayes has given us and entrepreneurs a great example for what giving back truly means. He explains that the JRF Scholars program was crucial to his professional development as a student. He has now provided 20 other students with the same scholarship experience that he had, in hopes of enabling them to develop their own leadership capabilities and discover their strengths.
A lot of highly successful people are philanthropic, they enjoy giving and sharing their wealth with those in need, or simply those that could use empowerment. At the same time, many successful entrepreneurs in a local environment are not that willing to share, possibly out of fear or greed.
We hope this story encouraged to consider how you can share your wealth and help your local environment as a result of your own success.
