Brave is one of the most innovative companies in the Blockchain sector as they are taking on the traditional browser market by offering a privacy-centric experience and also giving content creators the opportunity to get rewarded for the content they produce via their verified publishers program and also through their tipping program in which users can give Basic Attention Token (BAT) to other users whose content they enjoy.

The tipping program has been made available for Reddit and according to an August 1, 2019 announcement, has now been made available for Twitter.

Tipping Comes to Twitter

According to the announcement, users can now decide how much BAT they wish to give to content creators on twitter and can now automatically send the token to them.

This new development also lists some new features that were not previously available such as the setting up of recurring tips which means that users can opt for consistent tips to be given on a periodic basis to content creators they wish to support. This is in line with Brave’s philosophy of making sure that all creators on their platform are rewarded adequately.

There is also a new feature that allows users to tweet at the creators that have been tipped, informing them of how to claim their rewards. This is beneficial for Brave themselves as various content creators might opt to make use of the Brave platform as another source of rewards for their efforts.

All this will be done via an in-browser offering from Brave rewards. All users who have opted for Brave rewards will see the tipping option when viewing twitter from the Brave browser. This also applies to Reddit, YouTube, Twitch and Vimeo.

While the actions taken by Brave are innovative, they are indicative of a changing landscape within the internet where more respect and consideration is given to both the rights of users and content creators. Users are not bombarded with ads unless they opt-in to view them and if they do, they are rewarded for them.

With this, as well as the tipping feature, Brave’s user base is only bound to grow with time.
