Craig Wright has been involved in an on-going case involving David Kleiman, a deceased scientist. He was accused of stealing billions of dollars’ worth of bitcoin from Kleiman after he passed away in 2013. Up until now, he has portrayed himself as innocent, but recently the self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto has been accused of providing falsified documents to the court to prove a trust deed with his plaintiffs.
The documents were revealed by trial lawyer Stephen Palley on Twitter on 3rd July. As per Palley, the document produced by wright has more than one chronological discrepancy which proves that Wright has falsified the documents. Among the many exhibits filed with the District Court of Florida Southern District, the document in question was submitted as a proof of cooperation between Wright and Kleiman and it was dated October 23, 2013, but the metadata of the file shows that the file uses a 2015 font, ‘Calibri’, which also has a copyright notice from Microsoft, related to Calibri, and this proves that the document could not have been created before that. Kleiman’s lawyers accused Wright of stealing hundreds of thousands of Bitcoin worth $5 billion at the time of writing.
Right after accusing Wright of faking the documents, Palley went on to write:
“I mean it makes sense that the inventor of bitcoin can time travel. Your honor.”
In late June, the court summoned Wright to provide a list of all his early bitcoin addresses, to which he declared he cannot comply with the court order. He claimed that he gave a piece of key information regarding the funds and wallets to Kleiman before his death.
Just a few months ago he was at the center of a dispute which resulted in the delisting of Bitcoin SV from several exchanges, he has also made several claims to be the creator of Bitcoin and majority of crypto enthusiasts are very much annoyed by this. The ball, however, is not in his court as of now. Only time shall tell if he is the real Satoshi.
