On July 25, 2019 it was reported that yet another individual had come out publicly claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto and this was according to court documents are filed in the ongoing case of Craig Wright and the estate of David Kleinman, a late scientist who Wright is accused of stealing billions of dollars worth of bitcoin from.

The case has been one of the most interesting in the crypto world in the last year as it is a possible avenue to not only determine whether billions of dollars worth of bitcoins were stolen but to also possibly unmask the famous creator of bitcoin. The case has taken yet another turn as, according to court filings dated July 22, 2019, Judge Bruce Reinhart, who is overseeing the case, has requested testimony from Ramona Watts who is the wife of Craig Wright.

Ramona Watts to Take the Stand

This request is for international assistance as Judge Reinhart has sent his request to the senior master of the Queen’s bench division of the High Court in Strand, London. The filing states that the three witnesses who are being called have direct relevant evidence that will help in the resolution of the case.

Watts was singled out in an order to produce documents as well as various communications and testimony to verify or discredit certain facts in the case. Some of the facts in question are the communications that were made between Wright and Kleinman when he was alive and information on the company W&K Info Defence research and most notably, Wright’s claim of being the creator of bitcoin.

The filing also mentioned several areas that Wright himself has testified on and it is believed that could Watts have knowledge of this information.  Craig Wright had allegedly discussed with her before their marriage about how he created bitcoin and Watts is now being called upon to produce evidence but she does have the privilege of not testifying about the information that was shared within her marriage in confidentiality.

This case, however, could help bring resolution to rest several controversies that have lingered within the industry about the creation of bitcoin, Craig Wright’s many outlandish claims and also the possible theft of a huge amount of bitcoin from the estate of the late scientist. A response has not yet been given and a date has not been set for the possible hearing, but should Ramona Watts take the stand, it will certainly put a new twist to the tale.
