Diginex has announced on October 9 that it will be the new member of the Blockchain Alliance. The Hong Kong-based digital financial service has become the first cryptocurrency firm in Asia to join the blockchain alliance organized by the law firm Steptoe & Johnson.

Blockchain Alliance, a public-private forum of firms and organizations promoting the secure development of blockchain, has officially welcomed Diginex, which had earlier announced a reverse merger that will make it the “first fully-diversified blockchain player on Nasdaq.”

The alliance now has grown with more than 100 industry and government agencies in 19 nations since it was founded in 2015 by the Chamber of Digital Commerce and Coin Center and led by international law firm Steptoe & Johnson, Diginex stated.

The coalition entails some major international regulatory entities such as Interpol and Europol. High-profile key players Crypto companies Coinbase and Kraken, as well as payments firms Ripple and Circle, are also among industry members, according to the organization’s official website.

“We are delighted to be the first firm in Asia to join this active forum of experts, where we intend to be a vital voice in driving dialogue between law enforcement, regulators, and industry.” Stated Diginex CEO Richard Byworth

Byworth pointed out the core roles of the Blockchain Alliance, emphasizing that the central organization’s objective is to focus on communication between blockchain-focused firms and government authorities to reduce the problem and minimize risks in the cryptocurrency industry.

According to a media report released by the coin telegraph, the Blockchain Alliance is not the first blockchain-related industry body joined by Diginex. The startup is also a member of the Global Digital Finance, a significant industry association developing a global code of conduct for cryptocurrencies.
