Daily transactions verified on the Ethereum (ETH) network surpassed the one million mark on Friday 28 June, for the first time since May 2018 as per data from Etherscan.

As the data from Etherscan, a leading ETH block explorer, as of June 28 there were 1,004,170 transactions confirmed on the Ethereum blockchain. Before Friday, the last the ethereum chain registered over million daily transactions was back in May 2018. That being said, the current milestone is still considerably lower than that of the 1,349,890 daily transactions registered on January 4 2018.

Furthermore, the on-chain transaction value of Ethereum hit an astounding high in December 2018. The month saw 115 million transactions confirmed on the network, all-time high which excludes activity following a hard fork which was carried out in light of the DAO hack back in 2016.

As reported by Diar back at the time, a crypto analytics firm, Ethereum volumes on decentralized applications (Dapps) registered and all new high back in April with 776,000 ETH transacted. At the end of April, Diar’s newsletter also noted that the on-chain transactions on the bitcoin (BTC) network hit new highs not seen on the OG chain since 2017.

Peter Brandt, a veteran trader and author predicted that Bitcoin (BTC) will continue to grow but altcoins such as Ethereum will not reap the benefits.
