By Bitcoin.com and HTC have announced a partnership that will allow Bitcoin.com to provide BCH (Bitcoin Cash) support on Exodus; the blockchain phone of HTC. For those unaware of recent developments, Bitcoin.com and BCH are promoted and backed by Roger Ver.
Roger Ver, the Executive Chairman of Bitcoin.com and its principal investor, had this to say:
HTC will make it easier to use BCH
Bitcoin.com’s partnership with HTC will enable BCH to be used as P2P electronic cash for millions of HTC smartphone users globally.
HTC’s Decentralized Chief Officer Phil Chen went on to explain why HTC felt Exodus 1 was important:
“While cold storage wallets are the ultimate in security, it can be hard and slow to use and transact your crypto. Live centralized exchanges, although fast, do not provide the security or afford you true ownership. It was important for HTC to find the right balance between the deadlock security of cold storage and the ease of use of live centralized wallets. You no longer need to have hardware wallets that then need something like Metamask and then a browser for instance. All the transaction and security capabilities are available using just your Exodus device.”
The good news for BCH holders is that HTC seems to have even bigger plans for BCH:
“This is only the beginning of what the decentralized world can offer, so the possibilities and potential are endless. We can see a future where merchants are using their Exodus device to receive BCH payments at their point of sale (POS). That’s a key reason we’re supporting BCH; it’s great to see so many consumers using BCH as a payment method.”
In recognition of the partnership with Bitcoin, HTC will also start offering phones which have pre-installed Bitcoin App.
Quick facts about Exodus
Exodus is a blockchain phone from HTC and they love calling “Exodus 1” as the first native 3.0 web mobile phone. Exodus 1 was launched at the Consensus conference in May 2018. Exodus 1 sells for USD 699 and EUR 749. A newer version of Exodus 1 called “Exodus 1s” is getting ready to be shipped in Q3 2019.
Recently, Huobi Global announced its plans to launch its Blockchain-powered phone on September 11. The phone christened “Acute Angle” will be selling at $515.
