Intel, BMW Group Asia and Nielsen have all recently become corporate partners with Tribe, a Singapore-based government supported blockchain accelerator.
Announced on Friday by Tribe Accelerator, the three firms will pool their knowledge and expertise in their respective industries along with Tribe’s startups to help build an “inclusive” ecosystem “ready for industry 4.0.”
For starters, BMW Group Asia will develop and facilitate “masterclasses” and mentoring sessions on the use cases of blockchain when applied to mass market situations.
Carsten Sapia head of the Asia Pacific of BMW Group Asia stated:
“We hope we can help each of these startups develop their proof-of-concepts and reach the next stage of their development.”
On the other hand, Intel will provide business and technical mentorships to startups.
Intel’s blockchain program director Michael Reed stated:
“Intel technologies like Intel Xeon Scalable processors and Intel SGX can help improve privacy, security, and scalability of blockchain solutions.”
Lastly, Nielsen stated that it will provide “a sandbox with the objective of providing participants with a safe, controlled environment to test new technologies and accelerate the adoption of their solutions.”
Ryan Chew, Tribe’s Managing partner, stated:
“To move forward as a society, we need to encourage experimentation, and once the benefits of blockchain technology become evident, mainstream adoption will undoubtedly follow.”
Furthermore, last month saw Tribe join forces with the Ethereum developer studio ConsenSys to bolster the blockchain industry in Singapore further.
Tribe Accelerator was launched back in December 2018 and formed part of venture capital firm TRIVE Ventures, in partnership with the South-Korea-based ICON Foundation and Singapore’s Venture Hub. A government agency, Enterprise Singapore was set up to develop the startup ecosystem as well as support Tribe Accelerator.
