Arguably the most well-known YouTuber in history, Pewdiepie recently took his first dive into the world of cryptocurrency and blockchain after he announced a new partnership with “Dlive” a blockchain-based live streaming platform.

He added:

“I’m partnering up with Dlive, it is a live streaming platform… Dlive’s mission is to empower creators… through their revolutionary reward system… personally, I think its really cool to have creator-based website, actually putting creators first. I’m really excited about Dlive and I’m really excited to be live streaming again.”

Pewdiepie also added that he’d be conducting his first by donating to content creators who make use of the Dlive platform.  The YouTuber also added he be will be donating “Mr.Beat-style” to creators with donations ranging from $10,000 to $50,000.

What Is Dlive?

Dlive is a blockchain-based live streaming platform which makes use of the disruptive nature of blockchain tech in order to reward content creators fairly. Most streaming platforms that are common today come with massive fees, with many services taking as much as 50% of content creators earnings as a fee.

Currently, YouTube still stands as the worlds most popular video streaming platform and is the go-to site for video sharing. Recently, YouTube has experienced some pushback from audiences about the platform’s recently updated rules about monetization which have become a pain for the content creators out there pushing out the stuff we want to watch. Thus, many alternative platforms have been popping up over the past few years, with Dlive being one of them.

Dlive’s goal is the upset the balance and put the needs of the content creator first and by empowering them due to the fact that it is a creator-driven platform. The rewards are not just for the content creators but also for viewers who can earn “Lino” an ERC-20 token.

This partnership between Dlive and Pewdiepie is a massive step forward for fair monetization and cryptocurrency adoption since the YouTuber has 93 million followers on YouTube which could very well mean millions of Dlive subscribers and in turn millions of unwashed public members being exposed to the world of crypto and blockchain.
