Portuguese Tax Authority Declares They Won’t Tax Cryptocurrencies

The Portuguese Tax Authority (PTA) announced on 27th, Aug 2019 that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will not be taxed in Portugal. According to Portugal media sources, the PTA responded to a request for more information from a company interested in mining cryptocurrency. This seems to be good news for crypto investors in Portugal, as they won’t have to pay capital gain taxes or VAT when buying or selling crypto.
