According to a recent tweet from CEO Justin Sun, that the total number of accounts created on the Tron blockchain has now surpassed 4 million. This is a huge achievement for Tron. According to the tweet, monitoring resource TRONSCAN, has announced that the network’s total account tally has reached 4.015 million.

Justin Sun broadcasted the aforementioned numbers in a way he is already famous for. However, the numbers don’t reveal if the accounts are active or dormant. Tron, compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum is likely to have a much smaller number of active accounts. Even in terms of development, developers still prefer the Ethereum blockchain.

The only significant activity that is seen on the Tron network would easily be the millions of Tether swapped from the Ethereum network to the Tron network. The TRC20-based USDT, which was launched in April 2019, recently hit a total supply of 490 million tokens. This is a whopping 12% of the 4.1 million Tether tokens that are in circulation, as per data from TRONSCAN. This was a result of the addition of 100 million TRC20-based USDT tokens. To further add to the event, on the very same day tracking service Whale Alert reported another large transaction of 40 million new TRC20-based USDT was minted.

The huge surge in the total number of accounts could be linked to Tron’s most recent partnership with Samsung. The South Korean tech giant has recently added support for Tron in its decentralized app store dubbed the ‘blockchain Keystore’. Sun has been known to constantly put effort into promoting Tron and its native token TRX. Even though this has drawn some unwanted attention towards him, it did make Tron one of the most talked-about blockchain network and cryptocurrency with a huge community.

Sun had previously hinted about the partnership with Samsung in a tweet where he encapsulated the details and just described the event as a partnership with a “$100 billion megacorporation.” This was a successful attempt in hyping up the community, as Tron was in the headlines of all crypto media outlets and Trx also saw a rise in price by 30%. TRX currently is the eleventh- largest cryptocurrency which is trading at $0.019 per token.
