Blockchain Holdings Capital Ventures (BHCV), a US-based company has joined forces with SG Blocks, a company which utilises cargo shipping containers in construction to create its multi-container data centres as per a press release on April 1.

The blockchain firm which has a focus on real estate, energy and technology companies, will become SG Block’s sole partner in the design of decentralized data centres with the first prototype expected in the fourth quarter of 2019.

BHCV has claimed it has plans to launch a distribution channel to scale data centre production and the firm is aiming to produce 150 -200 centres by 2020. While the majority of the centres will be fixed to one location, the company also has goals to develop mobile ones.

The latter will apparently be cheaper to produce and of course more flexible in nature.  For example, a mobile data centre can be placed in a remote area thus cutting energy costs.

SG Blocks was founded in 2007 and produces sustainable construction solutions by use of cargo shipping containers. Some notable clients are Starbucks, Marriot, Taco Bell, Aman Equinox and several sections of the U.S military forces.

In other great blockchain news, in the real-estate sector, three Switzerland-based companies, Blockimmo, proptech company Elea Labs Ltd as well as digital assets firm Swiss Crypto Tokens Ltd, recently facilitated a blockchain-based real estate transaction of 3 million Swiss francs (around $2.98 million), The deal itself consisted of one restaurant and 18 apartments.

Back in February, the County Auditor’s Association of Ohio founded a working group in order to study the use case of blockchain for effective transferring of property deeds. The initiative will explore how blockchain could increase the efficiency and management of real estate deals as well as the transfer of land titles across multiple borders.
