Updates on IOTA’s Key Projects

Chronicle

Chronicle is the most recent project to be launched by IOTA Foundation. It is a Permanode solution for IOTA’s Tangle distributed Ledger. Chronicle “makes it easy for node owners to store all IOTA transactions in a fast, secure, scalable, and distributed database”.

Chronicle will enable Tangle to indefinitely store its entire transaction history and simplify data access at a scale.

Bee

IOTA Bee is a framework for IOTA nodes. According to the update, the team has finished setting up the project’s architecture and is now working on core modules similar to components of their new node software.

The organization stated:

“We have also been working closely with the research groups to begin writing out the specifications for Coordicide related modules. We are on track to have these module specifications ready as the core modules are completed.”

Qubic

Qubic team is getting ready to run QCM’s first full incarnation on FPGA and observe whether simulations will run as well on actual hardware. Another update is about the adaption of QML to counter-attack vectors in Qubic Messaging Layer solution.

IRI

The team is experimenting with various improvements and benchmarking them to solve the Tip Selection Algorithm hang-up they have been experiencing. They are also working on a better way to store spent addresses database. Next version of IRI will be launched next week by IOTA Committee testnet (ICC).

Entangled

Entangled team has run IOTA through ESP32 wallet and released cIRI v0.1.0 alpha, which features parity in java with the original version. The Entangled team is also looking into using REST API alternative for gRPC API as an extension for IOTA Hub.

Trinity

The Trinity v1.1.0 release is available for mobiles and desktops on GitHub and contains updates for enhancement of v1.0.0 features. The wallet supports HTTP Basic Auth for advanced developers and users can now select own node for Proof-of-Work (PoW)
