By On 20th October 2019, VeChain announced their two in-house developed solutions – VeChain Official Blockchain Explorer and the VeChain Sync Official Ledger Wallet Interface.
The two features will serve the VeChain community, just like VeForge Explore and VeForge Vault did. These new changes come as a result of the sudden last-minute notice issued by the Totient Labs to discontinue their services to the VeChain community.
Ever since the VeChain Thor mainnet was launched back in June 2018, VeChain has supported and emphasized the need for community-based development.
VeChain believes that all stakeholders need to be involved in the development of a mature and inclusive blockchain that will lead to mass adoption. These stakeholders include government authorities, community developers, and enterprises. VeChain has thus been committed to assisting and supplementing the builders to be more successful than if they worked alone without the VeChain Foundation.
VeChain Foundation support to Totient Labs
Instead of using in-house developed solutions for the public ledger wallet support and block explorer, VeChain, partnered with Totient Labs. Since the partnership, VeChain Foundation offered them technical support as well as a marketing promotion.
The products from Totient Labs – VeForge Vault and Explorer have also been put under the spotlight as the official block explorer and ledger integration interface in official channels such as the official website, social media, and technical documentation portal.
Totient Labs has also had the pleasure of being invited to speak on the same stage as VeChain’s partners in the Inaugural VeChain summit 2019. This invitation offered them an opportunity to present their products and business plans to developers and enterprises, as well as connect with investors for their projects.
Despite the tremendous support Totient Labs has received from the VeChain Foundation, they have decided to discontinue their VeForge services to the community as from Monday, the 21st October 1019 12:00 PM PDT.
The VeChain Foundation have expressed their gratitude towards Totient Labs for their contribution to the ecosystem and wished them well in their future business endeavors.
VeChain Official Blockchain Explorer
The project will be reinstated with an in-house developed Vechain Blockchain Explorer, which will have more functions. The foundation promises to keep updating and adding new features. Some of these features include robust APIs for third parties, integration with the token Registry and Application hub, and integrate with VeChain Authority Masternode dashboard.
Once the VeForge Vault is closed, ledger users will be affected temporarily. Since VeForge is the main portal and interfaces for Ledger wallet, ledger users will not be able to access their tokens. However, they are assured of the safety of their tokens. The new method for ledger users to access their ledger wallets will be through the desktop wallet and dApp browser, sync.
The VeChain Foundation has assured the community that they remain committed to supporting the ecosystem builders with both monetary and non-monetary grants to startups and the community builders. With support, developers can focus on creating a functional business as well as monetizing sustainable growth for their projects.
